ANIMAGE & SOUND BLOW // VISUAL & AUDIO PERFORMANCE MASTER CLASS

ANIMAGE & SOUND BLOW // VISUAL & AUDIO PERFORMANCE MASTER CLASS

Point of view and point of hearing do oscillate between external and internal focalisations, between thoughts experiment and local, global acting, in ordere to build impressions and intimates as much as estimate expressions, hybrid display modes, ways of life and praxeis.

Connected within internal and external mouvements, observed bodies are being taken out the labs and studios to explore their plural environment connections. Body is only part of this outside, open to whatever surrounds it, that it’d be visible or invisible, committed or not commited to physical moves.

This summer Bandits-Mages launches the visual and audiovisual performance master class, co-elaborated together with VJ artist and Vision’R VJ Festival coordinator, Laurent Carlier, video artist and VJ, A- li- ce, and performer, musician and artist, Gérald Kurdian.

The three of them have been training VJ, and sound production for years, and will be helping out participants on their live audiovisual installations and performances proposals.

This year, further than live creation tools theoretical and technical training, this master class will be aiming to think about hybrid relations between Arts and Sciences, microcosms and spatial sceneries, scientific and popular knowledges.

Far from static views, we will look upon this knowledges ecosophy (in an anthropocentric perspective reversal), and thus upon a sound and images ecology, questioning past and future scientific representations.

From shooting views to visions release. Quantic image.

From sound recording to noises release. Multiple musicality.

From Bandits-Mages archival collections, and the Ciclic Pôle patrimoine, this master class shall enable to share and experiment new in motion and in permanent transformation life territories, with recorded or generated sounds, archival, shooter or generated images, and Living materials (the body and the environment)

Participants are highly welcome to bring their own personal images archives, sound recordings and original music pieces. They will also be able to record sounds and shoot images in situ.

Each participant will be working on a performance/audiovisual live installation that will be played during the last master class on Saturday August 31th within a collective creation at L’Antre-Peaux.

When signing in, participants should indicate whether they’re most interested in LIVE VIDEO or LIVE AUDIO sessions.
